The Valora Oak was the micro-wedding venue of our dreams — though they can definitely accommodate bigger weddings and events! When my husband and I were on the hunt for our wedding venue, we really wanted a place where we could accommodate all of our guests staying on-site with us, and it was hard for us to find a place within the Triangle area that could host all of us. I found the Valora Oak on Zola, and immediately booked a tour. Danielle, the client booking manager, was always incredibly responsive and accommodating of all of our requests. Jimmy, the property manager, keeps the venue and grounds in impeccable shape and was great to work with. I honestly don’t think I could’ve found a better wedding venue for us! Their responsiveness and thoughtfulness made our special day even better.

What an incredible venue. My daughter and her Fiancé got married here last weekend. There were about 20 of us.
The facilities are truly amazing. A separate building with an athletic facility, a separate building with a large common area / game room.
It is like your own private oasis. She had a private chef come in prepare meals in a huge, well equipped kitchen,
Swimming pool, with a separate Jacuzzi. I am not sure I have ever been to a nice wedding venue.

We had a wonderful 4-day stay and wedding at The Valora Oak this May and couldn't recommend it enough! As our families live far apart, we felt it was important for everyone to really get to know each other better during our wedding weekend. The Valora Oak was the perfect place for everyone to bond leading up to and after our wedding and we couldn't be happier with the service we received. This gave us the time we needed to setup/take down the wedding as well as some time to just relax and enjoy the property and amenities. I will preface this review by saying the we booked the property in early 2025 before it became an official wedding venue and therefore, we were grandfathered in at a lower rate that included the whole property. However, the management company and wedding manager, Jimmy Crisp, treated us very kindly during the transition and were very accommodating to all of our requests. Jimmy has worked very hard over the past year to thoughtfully polish and redesign the spaces to be event ready, even adding a bridal getting ready suite. The property itself is huge and is absolutely beautiful—it even comes with its own flock of geese! There were plenty of bedrooms to house family members and it was especially helpful for our grandparents to be able to rest in their rooms as needed throughout our wedding day without the stress of getting transportation to and from a hotel. We chose to setup the ceremony in front of the gazebo, the cocktail hour in the circle in front of the house, and the reception in a tent connected to the main house garage, however, there are truly endless spaces on this property (including two ponds and an indoor/outdoor sports complex) for you to take advantage of. Our guests were all blown away by the venue and it photographed beautifully. We found it helpful to rent a golf cart for the event (cary cart co) to help with shuttling guests and decorations around as well as to use as a married couple getaway vehicle. Thank you to Jimmy and The Valora Oak team for all of their hard work—we had the best stay!

We had our wedding here this past weekend, and it was the wedding of our dreams. It’s such a unique property and it’s so customizable so there’s a lot of different ways you can do things, and they were super flexible with allowing us to make our vision come to life. They are also extremely flexible with bringing our own vendors. It was a wedding but also an entire weekend experience/ college reunion weekend all in one. You really can’t get that with other venues. Danielle was our main point of contact through out the booking process and we worked with her for over a year, she was extremely responsive and helpful the entire time, letting us tour the property multiple times for planning purposes. Jimmy the property manager was also extremely helpful throughout the weekend and was hard at work making the property prestige. They are only continuing to improve and really receptive to feedback/ ideas. If you’re wondering if you should have your wedding here, the answer is yes!!

I'm a wedding photographer and I love love love this venue! They're incredibly open-minded and supportive of all. The venue managers take great care of the property, it's absolutely gorgeous.
I did see a recent review condemning the use of a problematic word within the Metadata of the website and the venue does NOT stand for that. It was an automatic description written by their website building platform and has been removed ♡
I look forward to working with any couples going forward at this gorgeous, expansive venue!

Although we didn't get married on the property, it was a beautiful place to stay and gather for our wedding weekend.
The property was well kept and spacious with plenty of things to do that kept our group busy and having fun!

My husband and I got married almost a year ago at this beautiful venue, and it was absolutely perfect. From start to finish, the host was there for us, available, responsive, and genuinely helpful every step of the way.
The space was exactly as we had envisioned and incredibly flexible when it came to guest accommodations and setting everything up just the way we wanted. It was also perfect for our children, who were able to run around and play freely, which made the day even more special.
The hospitality truly went above and beyond. Our entire family loved it so much that we’re already talking about coming back again. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
We celebrated my husband’s 52nd birthday and a collective group of 50th birthdays at Champion Estates. Though our stay was brief (just an overnight) we had an amazing time. The hosts and property manager (Bo) were responsive, friendly, and very easy to work with. The house has old bones but is still a beautiful, breathtaking space. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again for any event or large group gathering. Looking forward to another stay and/or corporate event in the future.
We chose this location for our wedding and we are so happy we did! The property was beautiful and our family and friends thoroughly enjoyed themselves! We had an issue with the fridge but Bo quickly helped us resolve it. His communication was exceptional. He even offered a free night because for the inconvenience we experienced. I would highly recommend this stay!
Could not recommend this property more. Was amazing for a golf trip with friends. The property far exceeded expectations and photos really do not do it justice. Communication from the host was top class and really made the whole process seamless. If you are thinking about booking this property, do it sooner rather than later as missing out on this would be a travesty. Thank you again and we will be back!
Our annual company leadership retreat was held at this property. It was so nice. The property is very clean and up to date. Everything is as described. The onsite team was very kind and lighting-fast responsive when we had a question or challenge. Seriously, Bo and his team deserve a big THANK YOU! Such a great experience. We would highly recommend.
Our family decided to celebrate the 65th Heavenly Birthday of my Mom at The Champion Estate to follow through on a desire that she had before passing away from cancer last year. The time we all spent together at this venue was spectacular and the memories we created will never be forgotten. The property was so gorgeous, the grounds were breathtakingly serene and we had more than everything we needed to celebrate my Mom the way we had envisioned. Thank you so much for allowing us the pleasure to stay here!
This property was everything we expected and beyond. It was perfect for my family to stay at during my brother's wedding. We thoroughly enjoyed all the facilities and manager was helpful throughout. I would recommend to everyone going to the Durham area with a big group.

If you have a big party, this is a great choice. There are beds for everyone, the kitchen is huge and there's plenty to do. The indoor basketball/pickleball/tennis court was a real plus.
We had an amazing and memorable experience during our stay. The property was awesome!
